Woody Pines

Woody Pines (Nashville, Tenn.)

From New Hampshire to Ohio to North Carolina and Tennessee, Woody Pines has let their music carry them to each new destination and let their surroundings shape each song. Mostly, though, Pines’ mix of Ragtime and Bluegrass (Rag-grass? Blue-time?) conjures images of washtub basses, spoons on the thigh and rambling through the Delta in the middle of August. It’s hot and sticky and will leave you just the same when you pick up your feet and dance along. They describe themselves as a “homemade ruckus” and it doesn’t get more accurate.
