Colony House

Colony House (Franklin, Tenn.)

Just because the Franklin, Tenn., trio sing about faith and two of the members’ father is the esteemed Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman doesn’t mean the group should be pigeonholed as a “Christian Rock band.” In the vein of other faith-based and anthemic rock group like U2 and The Killers, Colony House (the name comes from an apartment complex they called home in Franklin) pen lyrics about not giving up and battling the devil. “When the devil’s arms seem strong, brother keep it on,” lead singer Caleb Chapman sings on the sweeping “Keep On Keeping On” from last year’s When I Was Younger LP. On the band’s current tour some venues have age restrictions, but the group announced it’ll play acoustic sets outside the venues for the under-aged. Now that’s the Christian way
